yes, and…
What is improv for us?
Improv, short for improvisation, is a form of spontaneous theatre where people create scenes, stories and characters without a fixed script. But for us at Milte Hai Yaar, improv is so much more than theatre.
It's a safe space for our inner child to breathe. A space where we can let go of expectations, stop worrying about looking silly, and be ourselves without fear of judgement.
But improv isn't just about having fun. It's also an opportunity to grow as an individual. It helps us reconnect with our imagination, express ourselves more freely, practise communication, build confidence and become more comfortable with the unexpected.
For us, improv is about giving ourselves permission to play like children, grow as individuals, and connect like old friends.
improv intro
Here's what improv looks like.
how we play
The rules of improv.
Say “Yes, and…”
Accept what your partner offers and add something of your own. Ideas grow when we build on them instead of blocking them.
Listen like you mean it
Improv is less about being clever and more about truly hearing the people around you.
Mistakes are gifts
Failures are celebrated, not judged. An unexpected moment often leads somewhere wonderful.
Make your partner look good
Support each other. When everyone looks out for each other, everyone shines.
No judging, no mocking
We co-create a welcoming space without judging, mocking, unnecessarily correcting or interrupting one another.
Play at your own pace
You don't have to be loud or funny. Just show up, take part, and have fun together.
strangers to friends
How improv helps you make friends.
Laughter sparks conversations
Shared laughs break the ice faster than any introduction.
Beyond small talk
Through games and creative exercises, strangers get to know each other beyond the usual introductions.
Shared experiences build bonds
Playing, experimenting and making mistakes together creates real connection.
Friendships that last
Sometimes, the people you meet in a workshop stay friends long after it ends.
Because growing up shouldn't mean growing out of play.
